Frequently Asked Questions
Q - Who is Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau?
A - Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau is one of the oldest licensed & bonded firms in the State of California representing the insured in the settlement of homeowner and commercial claims.
After the fire in our showroom, we realized we were in trouble and needed help. Once we called Metropolitan . . . their knowledge and smooth negotiating prowess had us back in business in 48 hours after a major disaster. We recommend them to anyone.

Q - Why do I need them?
A - INSURANCE COMPANIES PAY AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE. Just as you would go to an accountant to handle an audit, Metropolitan is there to sift through the flood of bureaucratic procedures, red tape and countless unforeseen headaches that come with settling an insurance claim.
Q - What exactly will they do for me?
A - Metropolitan's sole task is to completely handle the arduous job of settling your insurance claim in a fair and timely manner. From the difficult and emotional jobs of boarding-up and repairing your property, to taking a full and detailed inventory, to delivery of your final check, Metropolitan is there guiding the process, persistently working side by side with you and your insurance company's adjuster. Our staff of well-trained, state licensed and bonded professionals make sure your loss is given the immediate attention and continual review that it deserves until it is concluded.
Q - But doesn't my insurance company already have people who do this?
A - Whereas your insurance company will supply you with their own in-house adjuster who may seem agreeable in processing your claim, more times than not, he will prove inefficient in getting you paid for what you consider the fair value of your loss. After all, his pay check comes from the insurance company and he can only serve one master.
Q - What sets Metropolitan apart from other public adjusting firms?
A - Metropolitan is a fully-staffed company which has built a reputation on supplying the personalized attention your claim deserves. Backed up by support services ranging from structural and geotechnical engineers, construction estimators as well as environmental technicians, fungus and mold specialists, and forensic accountants, we are perfectly integrated and in touch with the community of experts you will most likely need in the process of settling your claim. Unlike the other firms, our adjuster assessing your claim on the first day of the loss is the same person who will see you throughout the entire span of the adjustment.
I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the services provided by your company. I know I never would have been paid the policy limits that I was entitled to without the guidance of your staff member Joe.

Q - What will Metropolitan's services cost me?
A - Metropolitan's fee is based on a small percentage of your total settlement which is payable only when you receive your reimbursement. Since working with us will enable you to obtain a larger settlement than you would be able to receive by working on your own, our services should end up costing you nothing out of your pocket. Besides, it's important to remember, Metropolitan only sees their money after you see yours.
Q - At what point should I retain Metropolitan?
A - The answer is IMMEDIATELY: Most frequently, insured parties do nothing and wait to see what the insurance company offers them. Only after considerable frustration does the insured turn to the public adjuster to remedy what has become a logistical nightmare of paper work and SUBSTANDARD OFFERS. We can help at this point with success, however, we are unable to do as much as would have been possible had been retained from the beginning. GET THE JUMP ON YOUR INSURANCE CLAIM NOW!
