How we can help you resolve and rebuild!

Mission Statement
Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau, established in 1972, is a Southern California-based, fully licensed and bonded, public adjusting firm. We solely represent the interest of the insured in the adjustment of claims for fire, theft, windstorm, vandalism, water, hurricane and earthquake damage.

We act as the constant advocate and advisor for our clients' needs from the hours just following the loss all the way through the final settlement of their claims.

A total commitment to client satisfaction

The interest of our clients are fully covered by an "umbrella approach" which we utilize in settling all our claims, no matter the scope of service required. MAB consults clients during every step of the adjustment process. We are present at all meetings with insurance companies, their adjusters, experts and salvors, yet no settlement can ever be agreed upon without complete client approval.

While ensuring that our firm maintains its very "human face", it is also our aim to continue utilizing the cutting edge adjusting technology used in the field and in our offices that will assist us in settling our clients' claims well into the 21st Century.

We wish to thank you for the professionalism and negotiating prowess on our behalf with Farmers Insurance Group. Your knowledge and experience helped us obtain the results we needed to repair the damages from this loss.
Your assistance is appreciated and will not be forgotten.

The Umbrella Approach
MAB utilizes an "umbrella" approach for settling our clients' claims. This means we keep a permanent set of professionals retained to proficiently handle any area of an insured's loss in which we ourselves do not do the hands-on work (this includes legal work and the physical restoration of your property).

Once you have signed on with MAB, we hit the ground running, immediately and systematically laying the foundation on which your settlement will be built:

  1. We swiftly arrange for your property to be secured and boarded up: preserving the contents, and avoiding liability exposure or further damage from theft or vandalism.
  2. Simultaneously, as needed, we waste no time in getting you into a hotel or temporary housing you may be entitled to per your insurance policy.
  3. By this time, we will have already notified your insurance company, facilitated the assignment of an adjuster to your claim, and set up our first meeting to assess the damage of your property.

Representation in your hour of need

This is just the beginning of a process we tailor to each insured's individual needs. Knowing the physical, emotional and financial strife a loss can bring to bear on our clients, we strongly believe that restoring stability to your life is the most important thing we can do for you while we get into the heart of the claim adjustment.

Next we bring in our wide range of experts (as needed), including contractors and restoration companies for walkthroughs, in an attempt to obtain the agreement of everyone as to the extent of the damage to the property and what will be needed to rehabilitate it.

We want to thank you for your effort and hard work in negotiating the best settlement for our claim, in a timely manner. We are pleased with the settlement amount from the insurance company.

Estimates are then prepared under our direction, by licensed general contractors. This is closely followed by MAB taking a complete inventory of every total loss item. From dish towels to heirloom furniture, from machine bearings to custom factory equipment, MAB has prepared thousands of inventories and makes sure no item, no matter how seemingly insignificant, is left off your claim.

In the case of suspected structural instability following a severe fire or earthquake, your property is inspected by an engineer or tested for hazardous materials as necessary. Your MAB adjuster then moves on to assemble the raw data and reports from all our sources to get a comprehensive overview of the loss.

At this point we work closely with you to put together detailed schedules for your loss of business or rental income claim and move swiftly into negotiations with your insurance company for the final settlement.

Cutting through the red tape on your behalf!

Thank you all for the best service and outcome. I had retained two other companies prior to my retention of your company. I wasted a lot of time.
Metropolitan was so professional and even got me even more money than I though I would have been entitled to. Once they came on board I never had to worry again.

So what exactly is an public insurance adjuster?
Simply stated, a public adjuster works exclusively on your behalf to move your loss through the maze of policy conditions, insurance company red tape and other procedures required to obtain a proper settlement, therefore, allowing you to restore your property as quickly as possible.

The adjuster that your insurance company assigns to your claim is there to assess the damages that his employer will cover, using all the skills and tools available to ensure the least cost and inconvenience to the insurance company.

With a licensed and bonded public adjuster, you can rest assured that you will receive a more advantageous and timely settlement than you would have obtained on your own.
